GPT Partition Style Problem For Clean Install Of Windows 10

how to fit windows 10
I already know this can be deleted and substituted with MBR then again will I must format the partition?

You'll need to keep GPT for those who have a UEFI system, I think.

I did a clean install by booting from your USB flash drive. I used the Win 10 installer to delete the many partitions on my own boot drive (SSD). It then proceeded to produce and format new partitions (4 of these, one not visible in Disk Management).

In case you don't know: when called for a key, press small "skip" button. No key's needed. If you've installed and activated 10, it'll activate for any clean install for a passing fancy hardware.

A Clean install is merely that - your computer data and programs is not going to exist following process.

Make sure you've got backups of the data you wish to keep, and you've the discs and keys for just about any purchased software.

Read over the instructions, specially the color boxes

Ask questions regarding a step in case you have any

Step 7 Blue Note box: If you've got the free Windows 10 offer, then you'll definitely need to click/tap on Skipsince you won't have a product key.

Step 11 is really a branch to step 12 (no UEFI) OR step 13 (UEFI)

You do NOT ought to create the partitions manually.

Windows install will produce the partitions in the event the drive is unallocated as shown within the tutorial.

Disconnect other drives prior to the Clean install - then Windows are only able to write to that drive

I have cleaned installed often over the years, but also for the first time, I have stumbled upon a GPT partition to handle which is the place that the Windows 10 upgrade can be found. It selects another partition, that's the old Windows 8.1 Recovery partition. That's fine, I don't want this anymore, and don't have a very problem installing upon it, but I do have a very partition I created that's for all my data, and hope it this is left intact. I also must remove the old Windows 10 installing of C: drive.

Ok, good to find out that you've performed this before.

Here is information about UEFI Boot Mode(installing while using the GPTpartition style) and Legacy BIOS Boot Mode(installing while using the MBRpartition style). -> link

Having upgrade Windows 8.1 to W10, I wish to now complete a clean install, but cannot install over current installation due to

it like a GPT Partition style boot. I have often heard this can be deleted and substituted for MBR then again will I must format the partition?

Since the body is already setup for UEFI_GPT -

the issueis your setup media is booting the PC in MBR_Bios mode..

You can disable legacy Boot option in Bios setting

or you may rename BOOTMGR to BOOTMGR.old in your setup media

either among the above options can prevent your setup media from booting in Legacy (Bios-mbr mode)

and force laptop computer to boot UEFI

Windows install will discover the BIOS/UEFI, disk schema in case you let it. If you burn the install media to some DVD, you don't must think about any sexual affair things, you just must back up you personal data, obtain the keys and discs for third party purchased software and install Win10 for an unallocated/unformatted drive.

The upgrade is easier still - just upgrade.
