How To Upgrade My Lenovo Laptop With The Installation Media?
How to upgrade my Lenovo Laptop with all the Installation Media?
I inserted Windows 10 Pro Multiple Edition 1511 10586 64 Bit (7223712) in this little Dvd drive during my Desktop PC and booted to evaluate whether the dvd works you aren't?
It booted with no problem along with the first screen that I got had this message:
" It looks as you started an upgrade & booted from installation media. If you wish to continue together with the upgrade, eliminate the media from the PC & Click Yes.. If you want to perform clean installation instead, click No."
I acquired the installation media (DVD) in the drive and clicked Yes. Desktop PC continued to load the OS that was already there (Previously installed).
I would like to know if I desire to upgrade my Laptop with this particular same media having Windows 10 Home 10240 Single Language, how to it? Would I have to run the DVD (installation media) in the Laptop without visiting booting process.
Please advice.
Ashok
to upgrade - you manage the setup.exe from from the host OS you would like to upgrade..
to clean install - you boot on the setup media
Thanks for information. Please clear another doubt. if I run the DVD within OS of Laptop and upgrading process, do I have to to travel once again throughout the activation process? If yes consider some of the steps, please elaborate.
My Laptop was bundled with Windows 8.1 and upgraded OTA to Windows 10 build 10240 Single Language.
Thanks just as before
Ashok
No - the activation process is automatic
Another querry, please advise should I upgrade from DVD installation media or await upgrade/update to appear on my own laptop.
Thanks
ashok
Upgrade through the DVD. If without notice the upgrade requires a product key, stop and cancel it. You are attempting to upgrade on the wrong version. It should complete without asking for an item key.
Thanks for information Mr NavyLCDR. I tried to upgrade yesterday while using installation media plus it was asking me product key. I tried to penetrate my keys( following your upgradation of Windows 10 )it was not accepting neither Windows 8.1 keys. That means my media was of wrong version?
Ashok
Yes, wrong version, therefore you would not be capable to activate it. Your opening post said, " I desire to upgrade my Laptop using this type of same media having Windows 10 Home 10240 Single Language" so that you would want Windows 10 Single Language, that is available on the "Tech Bench" Microsoft website:
